Child Safety

CFPD aims to teach elementary school aged children the importance of fire safety through visits to classrooms, daycare facilities and firehouse tours. Find more information on our School Visits and Tour Information page.

Child Safety Seats

The Cary Fire Protection district does not currently have a certified child safety seat inspector on staff. You can obtain assistance with your child safety seat by contacting the Cary Police Department at 847-639-2341.

The Illinois Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act

Under the Illinois Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act, unharmed infants seven Days old or younger can be left at safe havens. In Illinois, the safe havens for newborns are:
  • Staffed Fire Stations
  • Staffed Police Stations
  • Hospitals
  • Emergency Care Facilities
Cary Fire Protection District is an Illinois Safe Haven location.
