The Cary Fire Protection District is over 100 years old! CFPD is a separate entity from the Village of Cary which provides Fire, Rescue, and Advanced Life Support Ambulance Services. CFPD protects approximately 35,000 residents covering Cary, Trout Valley and Oakwood Hills. In addition, CFPD also protects the surrounding unincorporated areas of McHenry and Lake Counties.
CFPD staffs 2 stations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days each year with a minimum of 9 personnel. Currently, we employ 65 part-time and paid-on-call (POC) members and 6 career members. We also have 2 civilian personnel.
The Department responds to approximately 1900 emergency incidents a year.
